  • Description: The Bowery night club was one of the finest night clubs in the Midwest. During the 1940s and early 1950s, the club hosted some of the leading acts in show business. Sophie Tucker appeared there, as did the Three Stooges, Danny Thomas and many others. The club was operated by Frank Barbaro, who lost it to his wife in a divorce in the early 1950s. Barbabra opened another club in Detroit. The club was demolished and is an empty lot on Jos. Campau next to the old Woody Pontiac dealership by Caniff
